Dalié Jiménez is a Professor of Law at UC Irvine School of Law and director of its Student Loan Law Initiative. She teaches and writes about debt, consumer law, bankruptcy, and access to justice.
An elected member of the American Law Institute, Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, and a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Commission on Consumer Bankruptcy. Professor Jiménez spent a year as founding staff at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau working on debt collection, debt relief, credit reporting, and student loan issues.
Born in Cuba, Professor Jiménez emigrated to the US as a teenager. She is a cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School and holds dual B.S. degrees in electrical engineering/computer science and political science from MIT. You can find her on Twitter at @daliejimenez.
