About me
Eduardo is the Program Officer for Civil Justice at the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAAS) where he works to implement the recommendations of the AAAS's Civil Justice for All Report and outcomes from the Making Justice Accessible Project. With deep knowledge about the access to justice ecosystem, Eduardo works to unlock collaborative potential between civil justice organizations, legal professionals and specialists, and the initiatives they lead. By cultivating a collegial network of professionals and serving as a connector for access to justice efforts, Eduardo expands awareness of emerging best practices, innovative technology tools, and critical civil justice research.
Prior to his role at the AAAS, Eduardo was the Projects Manager for the Self-Represented Litigation Network (SRLN). In that position, he coordinated SRLN’s various activities including an active listserv of civil justice professionals, monthly webinars focused on access to justice topics, engagement with volunteer working group co-chairs, and an online library of civil justice resources. Eduardo developed his expertise as the Georgetown-SRLN Access to Justice Fellow, where he conducted nationwide research of state access to justice systems and county level self-help services. Through this work, Eduardo has developed a practice of tracking emerging civil justice research, initiatives, and projects, and synthesizing insights to amplify the effectiveness of interventions deployed to provide access to legal assistance for all.
